State Representative Jed Davis has joined fellow Republicans on the House and Senate Energy Committees in calling for a comprehensive review of Illinois' energy policies. The legislators have sent a letter requesting an urgent subject matter hearing.

"Illinois families are already getting crushed by the highest cost of living in the Midwest," Davis stated. "Now, thanks to reckless green energy mandates, we’re staring down a massive spike in electric bills—up to 22% statewide. This isn’t just numbers on paper. It’s real money out of people’s pockets—money they need for gas, groceries, and housing."

Davis highlighted Marseilles in District 75 as one of the areas most affected, where local government is preparing for significant increases in capacity charges—1,000% annually and nearly 2,100% during summer months. "Talk about a death blow to local budgets," he remarked.

"We can’t keep ignoring reality. Energy policy in Illinois is a disaster, and working families are paying the price," Davis continued. He urged energy committee chairs to take immediate action before costs escalate further.
