State Representative Jed Davis will hold his third annual Fishing Derby on June 14 at Silver Springs State Park – Loon Lake in Yorkville. The event is scheduled from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and aims to provide families with an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors together.
"I am thrilled to offer my third annual Father’s Day weekend fishing derby this year!" said Rep. Davis. "This event is a great opportunity for families to make lifelong memories together, while also enjoying an incredible state park. I encourage all interested families to join us for this great event!"
The first 50 children attending the event will receive free rods and reels, thanks to Wildlife Forever. Prizes are sponsored by Plano Molding. Illinois Conservation Police will be present to conduct informational sessions on fishing safety and assist participants with baiting hooks and reels. No fishing license is required for participation.
