Rep. Randy Hultgren (R-IL) recently said “yes” to continue funding for the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
A news release on Hultgren's website reported that
Earlier this month, Hultgren voted in favor of House Resolution 3922, also known as the Championing Healthy Kids Act, that keeps funding intact for CHIP for another five years, he said in a release. The resolution also directs money to community health centers and public health programs.

“Kids need continued access to the CHIP program, which offers affordable, comprehensive coverage to 250,000 children in Illinois alone,” Hultgren said in the release. “Community health centers provide vital primary, preventive and specialty care services to more than 101,000 patients just in the 14th Congressional District. I have been a strong advocate for both, and I am pleased the House voted to fund these important programs and services for the families and young people they serve in our district and across the country. They are vital parts of the U.S. health-care system, and I will continue to fight for these programs in the future.”
The House voted 242-174 in favor of the measure, congress.gov reported.
The 14th Congressional District includes Kendall County.
