Wade Central Fire Protection District responded to 50 calls in 2017 - 51.5 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Wade included 31 fires - 13 structure fires, two vehicle fires and 16 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $466,100 in fire loss - or about $15,035 per fire.

The department also received 18 false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury.
