City of Sandwich City Council met June 22.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Robinson called the meeting to order at 7:03 PM.

Roll call was taken:

Present: Mayor Robinson, City Clerk Ii & Alderman Surratt

Present via WebEx teleconference call: Aldermen Chmielewski, Dell, Killey, Kelleher & Kreinbrink; City Attorney Harrill, Department of Public Works Horak; Building Official Steffens, City Treasurer Webber, EMA Director Ciciora & Chief Bianchi

Absent: Alderman Redden

Audience Comments: None

Consent Agenda: Motion made by Alderman Surratt, and seconded by Alderman Kreinbrink, to adopt the Consent Agenda. Aye: Aldermen Chmielewski, Dell, Kelleher, Killey, Kreinbrink, Robinson & Surratt Nay:0 Motion carried 7:0

a. Approval of Regular Council Meeting Minutes of June 8, 2020

b. Approval of Committee-of-the-Whole Meeting Minutes of June 15, 2020

c. Approval of May bills totaling $ 77,626.37

d. Resolution 20-05 entitled “IMRF Resolution to Allow Benefit Protection Leave” for adoption

Mayor Robinson:

Ordinance 2020-10 entitled “Ordinance Authorizing Aggregation of Electrical Load” presented for first reading. Because of time constraints, Council reserves the right to waive first reading. Ordinance relates to the Council approval of renewing the annual electrical aggregation contract for residents and small businesses plus authorization for the Mayor to execute any contracts or documents pertaining to said renewal.

Motion made by Alderman Surratt, and seconded by Alderman Kelleher, to waive first reading of Ordinance 2020-10. Aye: Aldermen Chmielewski, Dell, Kelleher, Killey, Krienbrink, Robinson & Surratt Nay:0 Motion carried 7:0

Alderman Surratt moved to adopt Ordinance 2020-10 as presented. Motion seconded by Alderman Kelleher. Aye: Aldermen Chmielewski, Dell, Kelleher, Killey, Kreinbrink, Robinson & Surratt Nay:0 Motion carried 7:0

Announcement: June 29th is the 5th Monday; there will be no Council meeting

Foster, Buick, Conklin & Lundgren Law Group: No report

City Clerk Ii reported that she is still experiencing attachment issues on her sent emails. Apart from Alderman Kreinbrink and WSPY, she asked if any other aldermen are having problems with emails received from her. Alderwoman Killey said she did have difficulty a week ago but not recently.

CityTreasurer: Noreport

Director of Public Works / City Engineer:

Zoning Board of Appeals: Public Hearing ZBA 2020-01 for property located at 1315 S. Main Street will be held at the regular meeting on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 6:30 pm in the City Hall Annex Building,128E.RailroadStreet,Sandwich,IL60548. Theapplicant,HaroldDannewitz,requestsa variance to decrease the north side lot set back from ten (10’) feet to six (6’) feet.

Hall Street Lift Station Building: Engineer Horak requested a motion to proceed with the repair of the exterior siding and sheathing with A&B Exteriors expending from line item 300.0000.90.6800. Revised quotes were received from (a) A&B Exteriors for $9,325.00 (+ $45/sheet if required), and (b) Thomas Builders for $12,560.00.

So moved by Alderman Dell, and seconded by Alderman Kreinbrink. Aye: Aldermen Chmielewski, Dell, Kelleher, Killey, Kreinbrink, Robinson & Surratt Nay:0 Motion carried 7:0

Announcements: The Finance Committee Meeting will be held on Monday, July 6th, following the Committee-of-the-Whole Meeting.

The Finance Committee will hold a Special Meeting immediately following the Regular Council Meeting of June 22nd.

Adjournment: There being no further business to come before the Council, motion made by Alderman Surratt and seconded by Alderman Kelleher to adjourn the Regular Council meeting at 7:15 PM. Aye: Aldermen Chmielewski, Dell, Kelleher, Killey, Kreinbrink, Robinson & Surratt Nay:0 Motion carried 7:0
