Chairman Hennessy swore in Ms. Mary Lija, Joliet, Illinois, who appeared on behalf of the petition. She briefly described the proposed project. Chairman Hennessy swore in contractor, Mr. Adam Kingen, 575 S. Arthur Avenue, Arlington Heights, Illinois. He briefly described the proposed project.
A motion was made by Vincent Alessio, seconded by Jim Riggs, to approve PETITION 2020-31: A Variation to reduce the rear yard setback from 25’ to 21’ in order to construct a 13’ X 12’ sunroom off the rear of the home, located at 2310 Messines Ridge Court subject to the following condition: That the property owner shall apply for a building permit. The motion carried by the following vote:

A motion was made by Vincent Alessio, seconded by Charles McCauley, to approve PETITION 2020-32: A Variation on the maximum height of a proposed garage from the allowable 20’ height to 21’ 4” and increase the maximum allowable wall height of a garage from 10’ to 19’ 9”, located at 414 Cowles Avenue subject to the following conditions: 1.That the property owner shall apply for a building permit to construct this garage, and 2.That a paved driveway shall be installed that leads to the garage. The motion carried by the following vote:

A motion was made by Jim Riggs, seconded by Vincent Alessio, to table PETITION 2020-33: A Special Use Permit to allow an indoor and outdoor storage facility, located at 1801 W. Jefferson Street. The motion carried by the following vote:

A motion was made by Jim Riggs, seconded by Vincent Alessio, to approve PETITION 2020-34: A Special Use Permit to allow a truck terminal, located at 3350 Channahon Road subject to the following conditions:
1. The additional truck and trailer parking area shall be required to make a Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) as per the terms of the future ordinance;
2. That a landscape plan be shall be submitted as part of the building permit plan set that meets City Ordinance; and,
3. Should the property be declared a public nuisance, it shall be subject to a rehearing and a possible revocation of the Special Use Permit. The motion carried by the following vote:
