The Senate Republicans celebrated Administrative Professionals Day last week by giving thanks to the support staff that keeps senators' offices running smoothly.
State Sen. Sue Rezin (R-Morris) joined her GOP colleagues in giving gratitude to her staff on an April 21 Illinois Senate Republican Caucus video.
"Today as we recognize our legislative aides, I would like to thank Tara from my Springfield office, Shannon and Renee from my district office, for all of the hard work you do to make my offices run smoothly," Rezin said. "Thank you, you are the brains behind all of this and you make me look good each and every day. Thank you."
Meanwhile, Rezin has been vocal about her concerns in how Gov. J.B. Pritzker has handled the COVID-19 outbreaks and deaths at VA nursing homes. According to a March 4 Prairie State Wire report, Rezin was critical of the lack of urgency in responding to the outbreak that claimed 36 lives at the LaSalle Veterans Home and supports an investigation into the matter.
The first National Secretaries Day was organized in 1952. Over the years, the name changed to Professional Secretaries Day. In 2000, the International Association of Administrative Professionals announced that name would be changed to Administrative Professionals Day.
