Oswego School District 308 board members had two messages for attendants at a recent school board meeting: They don't directly work for the public, and they don't appreciate receiving threats via email.

Parents at the recent meeting audibly reacted when a school board member said it was a 'misperception' when parents wrote to tell her 'You work for us.' She explained the decision making process is much broader.

In the video posted to YouTube, one board member told an agitated audience “to do what you want us to do is not our job.”

The Kendall County Republicans want to send a message to members of the school board.

“Here in Oswego 308 school district, can you say one term?” the group posted on Facebook. “Maybe they will get a clue and resign. And let someone who knows they work for us the taxpayers and we, the people.”

Another board member later declared “what is not helpful and what I will not allow are the adversarial, threatening and disrespectful emails that have been permeating my inbox. That is not acceptable. If you choose to call us names and threaten us we have the right to not listen.”

In their Facebook post, Kendall County Republican members asked area taxpayers to post their thoughts on the issue.
