PrairieFest Restaurant Week

12

The area’s second annual PrairieFest Restaurant Week returns with a delicious lineup to warm the appetite this winter. February 19-26, 2022 will feature a week-long dining event, presented in collaboration by the Oswegoland Park District, Oswego Area Chamber of Commerce, and Village of Oswego.

For over 30 years PrairieFest has been a festival for the community to come together. PrairieFest Restaurant Week creates that same unity with shared edible experiences. Kristie Vest, Oswegoland Park District Superintendent of Events and Cultural Arts says, “Winter has limited our ability to connect with each other. This week is a great way to enjoy the food our area has to offer, and start great conversations about the best hearty soups and everyone’s favorite dessert.”

Food fans are invited to “Take a Bite Out of February” in a culinary tour through the wide-ranging and delicious local culinary establishments. Select restaurants will feature unique offerings and others will have special promotions on foodie favorites.

Winter can be a slow time for area businesses. Angie Hibben, Executive Director of the Oswego Area Chamber of Commerce commented, “It is so very important to support our restaurants and businesses during this time. With the cold weather people tend to stay home more and they need our help and support.”

Oswegoland restaurants have risen to the challenge with interesting dishes to share with diners. The chefs from 113 Main will be offering a Waldorf Salad made with fresh apples, grapes, walnuts, golden raisins, and mayo drizzled with fresh lemon citrus juice tossed in Arcadia blend topped with a jerk-encrusted seared New Zealand snapper.

Other restaurants will be featuring family deals, Steve Buresh’s Cheesecake Shop will have a package with two Flatbread Pizzas, two Salads and two of his signature Cheesecake slices. Other specials include $10 lunch boxes from the Village Grind and $3.50 pints from the Oswego Brewing Company. All the specials are listed at PrairieFestRestaurantWeek.com.

Vest says the week is a great way to avoid cabin fever. “Between the Hot Chocolate Popcorn and the Mini-Layer Cakes, there are some exciting options that will entice everyone out of their kitchen.” More importantly, the message is that area restaurants are open for business over the cold winter, with some sizzling delicious deals.

PrairieFest Restaurant Week cooks up some fun February 19-26. For a growing list of restaurants, diners can visit PrairieFestRestaurantWeek.com. Interested Restaurants or anyone with additional questions can reach out to Kristie Vest at kvest@oswegolandpd.org or 630.554.4425.
