Jed Davis | Jed Davis
Jed Davis | Jed Davis
My opponent, David Welter, is puffing his chest and proclaiming himself as Mr. Parents Rights. Hold on a second cowboy, let's look at the actual history here.
So, where's my rep? I asked this question when the governor closed businesses. I asked this question when the governor excluded and masked students. I asked this question when the governor vaccinated teachers. Can you guess the answer?
Crickets. My rep was maybe emailing or writing statements, but my rep wasn't physically doing anything of substance, my rep being David Welter.
You'll never ask where's my rep with me. I'll be easy to find, standing tall on the front lines. Here's the supporting evidence...
June 2020: Jed sends a letter to the Illinois Department of Public Health and Illinois State Board of Education stating Parkview Christian Academy (PCA) is allowing parental freedom for their students.
July 2020: The governor sues PCA for not following his executive orders.
August & November 2020: Jed stands in a courtroom (on behalf of PCA) battling the governor for parental freedom.
April 2021: The state threatens to hold Jed in contempt of court because he refuses to follow the governor’s executive orders.
August 2021: Jed instructs the school's attorneys to email the Illinois State Board of Education stating PCA is again allowing parental freedom for their students.
September 2021: Jed instructs the school's attorneys to sue the Illinois State Board of Education for stripping PCA’s academic and athletic recognition.
October 2021: PCA wins a restraining order against the Illinois State Board of Education, securing parental freedom for their families, students, and teachers. Jed also ignores the vaccine mandate for teachers as this decision belongs to teachers, not politicians. As a result, PCA never enforces these mandates.
It was never about fighting against laws, masks, or vaccines. Please note executive order after executive order isn’t law. It was always about your constitutional rights and allowing healthcare workers, parents, and teachers the freedom of choice.
So, remind me again. Who's actually Mr. Parents Rights, Jed Davis or David Welter? The answer is pretty obvious.
