National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Tom Emmer congratulated Scott Gryder on his victory.

The NRCC chairman celebrated Gryder and lamented Lauren Underwood’s time in office.

“Congratulations to Scott Gryder on his primary win," Emmer said. Come November, Illinois voters will remember that Lauren Underwood is directly responsible for Democrats' radical agenda that is making everyday life more expensive for Illinois families.”

Gryder, in turn, appreciated Emmer's congratulatory note.

"Thank you, Chairman Emmer! With $5-$6 gas and the cost of living increasing in every aspect of our lives, it’s time for change in the Illinois 14th Congressional District!"

The NRCC harshly criticized Democrat Lauren Underwood for accepting campaign contributions from progressive Washington Rep. Pramila Jayapal, Will County Gazette reported. Jayapal is the chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus as well as the chair of a “Medicare for All” political action committee. The NRCC wants to use this contribution to paint Underwood as an ultra-progressive although according to govtrack.us, her voting record puts her in the middle of the Democrats while Jayapal ranks on the far left.

Republicans in the 14th district nominated Gryder to challenge Underwood in November. Gryder’s main focus is the rising cost of living and the toll inflation is taking on everyday Americans. He also supports the 2nd Amendment, recognizes China as an enemy, and promises to restore fiscal responsibility. Gryder is ready to fight against the radical Biden/Underwood agenda.

Underwood said during a hearing with DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas that she was concerned with misinformation and disinformation in elections. She said this during a hearing about the Department of Homeland Security’s Disinformation Governance Board. The White House claims that the board will combat disinformation related to foreign interference, extremism, and human trafficking in domestic elections. Underwood stated that she believes that the board should go further saying that she supports the board doing external communications with the American public, including with those who speak Spanish as a first language, to combat mis- and disinformation directly, according to Lake County Gazette.
