State Representative Jed Davis (R-Yorkville) is hosting a foster care information session and supply drive at his district office in Yorkville. The event is co-hosted by State Senator Sue Rezin (R-Morris), CASA Kendall County, and Called to Care. The goal of the event is to recruit more foster parents and provide essential supplies for children in the foster care system.

"We always need more foster parents to help meet the needs of children awaiting placements in DCFS," said Rep. Davis. "Many interested families may not know where to start when it comes to becoming foster parents, and these information sessions will give them all of the details and tools they need to get started."

The information sessions will be held on Thursday, November 16th at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at State Representative Jed Davis' office. Prospective foster parents will have the opportunity to learn more about the process of becoming a foster family from current foster parents and local non-profit organizations.

"Within our state and community, there are unfortunately countless children in our foster care system that are in need of love, support, and essential supplies," said Sen. Rezin. "That is why I am proud to be partnering with CASA Kendall County, Called to Care, and Rep. Davis to provide information, support, and desperately needed supplies for our state's foster care system. Every child deserves a loving and safe home. By coming together as a community, we can help ensure that reality and make a difference in the lives of those who need it most."

In addition to the information sessions, a foster care supplies drive will be held from November 13th to 16th. The drive aims to collect items such as diapers, winter hats, winter gloves, and winter coats for foster children.

"With winter right around the corner, many foster families will take in children needing winter gear," said Rep. Davis. "As parents know, paying for winter wardrobes adds up fast, so let's help these local families by providing the much-needed gear."

Items for the supplies drive can be dropped off at either State Representative Jed Davis' office in Yorkville or State Senator Sue Rezin's office in Morris.

This event provides an opportunity for interested individuals to learn about foster care and make a difference in the lives of children in need. By supporting foster families and providing essential supplies, the community can come together to ensure that every child has a loving and safe home.
