State Representative Jed Davis (R-Yorkville) has introduced two bills aimed at providing property tax relief for vulnerable populations in Illinois. House Bill 4242 focuses on helping people with disabilities, while House Bill 4244 aims to assist low-income senior citizens. Both bills aim to lower property tax payments by ensuring that more individuals are eligible for homestead exemptions.

In a statement, Rep. Davis expressed the urgent need for tax relief in the state, stating, "It's no secret high taxes are stifling Illinoisans. We must get serious about tax relief, which is why I filed two bills aimed at ensuring some of our most vulnerable populations can afford living in Illinois."

The proposed legislation is part of a larger package of bills called the "helping households package," which Rep.
