AUX SABLE MIDDLE SCHOOL: Thirteen D. 202 middle school singers perform at Carnegie Hall

Aux Sable Middle School issued the following announcement on June 28.

Thirteen District 202 middle school students performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City this month as part of the 2018 Middle School Honors Performance Series Choir.

The students attended Aux Sable and Ira Jones middle schools in the 2017-2018 school year.

The students are:

Mackenzie O’Leary

Ira Jones Middle School

Vivian Bohm

Justin Conrad

Jonathan Gilmore

Katelyn Holloway

Lauren Keith

Michael Petro, Jr.

Emma-Jo Rodgers

Justin Watt

Noelle Asiyanbi

Lillian Del Alcazar

Natalie Liapis

Malorie Wons

Three students including Bohm attended the same program in June 2017.

Ira Jones Choir Director Karen Blair nominated the students and attended the event held June 20-24, 2018.

Students had to submit a resume, a singing sample and once accepted had to memorize five songs. The students went to New York to rehearse for three days with other choir members from around the world. The trip culminated with a performance in the famed Carnegie Hall.

O’Leary was chosen to sing a solo and Asiyanbi introduced a song during the performance.
