OSWEGO COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT 308: Board of Education Approves Debbie L. Miller, RN, BSN, PEL-CSN, MAEL as Director of Health Services

Oswego Community Unit School District 308 issued the following announcement on Aug. 1.

Oswego Community Unit School District 308 Board of Education has approved Debbie L. Miller, RN, BSN, PEL-CSN, MAEL, to fill the role of Director of Health Services for the 2018/19 school year.

Miller has close to 20 years of educational nursing experience in various school environments including: school nurse; clinical nurse educator; supervisor of school health services; coordinator of school health services; certified school nurse for the deaf, hard of hearing , and vision programs; and school nurse. She has worked in very large as well as small school districts. Prior to educational nursing, Miller was an Operating Room Nurse for several years.

“Ms. Miller’s broad health services experience in varied settings in the educational field, as well as her certification in educational leadership, will be an excellent addition to the SD 308 community,” said Valerie Patterson, executive director of student services.

Miller has an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Nursing from William Rainey Harper College; a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Saint Xavier University; a School Nurse Certification from National Louis University; and a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership (MAEL) from Aurora University.
