Oswego Community Unit School District 308 issued the following announcement on Mar. 15.
Illinois High School Art Exhibition (IHSAE) is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to enhance the creative educational landscape, giving student and teacher artists agency to succeed by connecting them to a variety of remarkable exhibitions, opportunities, and programs, while advocating for and reinforcing the power of art in their lives.
Congratulations to the following Panther Senior Artists from Oswego High School, who combined were offered $738,000 in scholarships: Mark (Jacob) Everix, Autumn Haberkorn-Mendez, Courtney Pawlisz, Karly Quarnstrom, and Bridget (Hazel) Reese. Congratulations also to Junior Panther Artist, Danielle Donovan, for having received an Early College Program Scholarship to the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where she will be able to attend the UIUC, College of Fine & Applied Arts Summer Intensive. Danielle was one of forty-one students, out of a pool of 169 students that was chosen to receive this scholarship at this year’s Virtual IHSAE show.
The IHSAE Virtual Ceremony will take place on Sunday, April 11 and will feature the best student artists from 100 Illinois high schools. The artists and their artwork will come together to celebrate the power of art in their lives and showcase their work at the 9th Annual Illinois High School Art Exhibition (IHSAE) where they will vie for top recognition awards and $60,000,000 in college scholarships.
