Aux Sable Middle School issued the following announcement on May. 19.
The District 202 Board of Education plans to resume opening its meetings to the public on June 14, 2021, based on current predictions about state health-related meeting restrictions.
Governor J.B. Pritzker anticipates fully re-opening the state to pre-COVID 19 pandemic status by mid-June, according to various media reports.
If that happens, the District 202 Board of Education will welcome the public back into its regular meetings on June 14, 2021, said Board President Kevin Kirberg.
“Like many school boards we have been holding our meetings online since the pandemic started as allowed by law, to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community,” Kirberg said.
“Based on the recent updated heath guidance from the CDC and governor, we are ready to re-open our doors, so to speak, as soon as the governor says it is appropriate to do so.”
District 202 Board of Education meetings will still be subject to all appropriate health and capacity-related guidance and rules, Kirberg said.
