Oswego Community Unit School District 308 issued the following announcement on May. 19.
Oswego Community Unit School District 308 Board of Education has approved Dr. John T. Petzke as the new Chief Financial Officer/CSBO effective July 1, 2021. Dr. Petzke previously worked for SD 308 from 2007-2012 in the role as Executive Director of Technology. “My previous experience in SD 308 helped shape and ground my core beliefs in the need to provide a quality and comprehensive education for all students,” said Dr. Petzke. “I am looking forward to working with everyone, from the dedicated Board of Education members, the enthusiastic students, involved parents, talented staff and teachers, and supportive district administrative team.”
Petzke began his educational career as a fourth grade teacher at Indian Prairie School District 204 in 1995, and currently serves as the superintendent of Prophetstown-Lyndon-Tampico CUSD #3.
Petzke earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois; Masters in Educational Administration (w/type 75) from North Central College, Naperville, Illinois; Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Aurora University, Aurora, Illinois; and M.S.Ed. in School Business Management with CSBO from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois.
“We are excited to welcome Dr. Petzke back to the SD 308 community,” said Dr. John Sparlin, superintendent of schools. “His strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting and community engagement will be an excellent addition to the administrative team at SD 308.”
