Oswego Community Unit School District 308 issued the following announcement on Nov. 2
Oswego Community Unit School District 308 has launched a streamlined process for hiring. Area job seekers have an opportunity several times this month to come to open interviews where they will meet with human resources specialists and leaders from around the school district to help connect people to positions. The district has a wide variety of roles for people of all skill levels and experience.
In one visit to the open interview event, individuals can apply for a position, talk with human resources specialists regarding licensings and requirements, meet with a member of the district or school administration for an interview, and may leave with a written contingent offer of employment. This new and innovative way of making employment more accessible and the opportunity to join the staff of SD 308 easier is an effort to help fill the large number of vacancies across the district.
“We want everyone to know that school districts offer job opportunities across many disciplines,'' said Superintendent Dr. John Sparlin. “Schools can provide unique opportunities for parents to work the same schedule as their child’s school, with holidays and breaks off. Our benefits package is comprehensive and generous, but most importantly working in a school district brings fulfillment, knowing that you are contributing towards the educational success of young people.”
The district currently has openings for teaching assistants, substitutes, bus monitors, bus drivers, custodians, recess supervisors, nurses, bilingual and dual language teachers, deans, interprepters, special education teachers and many more. Positions have a typical work week of 30-40 hours per week, in a predictable schedule.
Open interviews are being held on Thursday, Nov. 4; Tuesday, Nov. 9; and Thursday, Nov. 11, from 5-7pm at the District Administration Center (4175 Rt 71, Oswego- enter door 2). Applicants should bring along two forms of identification, contact information for references, details on past employment and education, and a cancelled check for payroll. District staff will assist interested applicants throughout the process.
