Report: Newark spent $7,427 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Newark Community Consolidated School District 66 is down 16.8 percent from five years ago, according to a Kendall County Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Kendall County school district spent $8,926 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $7,427 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 237 to 265.

Newark's spending in 2017-18 was 44.3 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
