Analysis: Newark administrators rank 754th in state for average pay

Administrators in Newark Community Consolidated School District 66 earn an average of $80,250 per year, ranking 754th out of 864 districts in the state, according to a Kendall County Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 3.5% higher than in 2014 and 18.1% lower than in 2009. District administrators make 25.2% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Kendall County school district enrolled 265 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 133 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
