The Oswego Community Unit School District 308 Board of Education seated Jared Ploger as an appointed board member at its Monday, April 11th meeting. Mr. Ploger joins newly seated Mr. Dominick Cirone, who was sworn in at the February 10, 2022 meeting.
Mr. Ploger’s vacancy was created when former Board President, Dr. Donna Marino stepped down. Mr. Circone’s vacancy was as a result of the resignation of Ruth Kroner, who was the former Board Secretary. The board is now functioning at full capacity with all seven positions filled. The role of Board President is held by LaTonya Simelton, the Vice President is Eugene Gatewood, and the Secretary is Jennifer Johnson.
“We are excited to welcome both Mr. Ploger and Mr. Cirone as the newest members of the Board of Education,” said Dr. John Sparlin, superintendent of schools. “Mr. Cirone has been involved with our district, previously serving on a board committee, and has shown his dedication and commitment to helping the district succeed. Mr. Ploger has previously served on the SD 308 Board of Education, from 2015-2019, and is a member of the Teaching and Learning Advisory Committee. We welcome back his understanding, knowledge, and experience with our school communities.”
