Jed Davis, a state representative, said he was unaware of a federal subpoena issued to Christopher Mehochko, superintendent of the Grundy-Kendall Regional Office of Education. However, he emphasized that any misuse of public funds or breach of public trust must be fully addressed. He made this statement to the Kendall County Times.

"If any public funds were misused or if public trust was violated, those responsible must be held fully accountable," said Davis, State Representative for 75th District (R). "As a state representative, I remain committed to fiscal integrity and transparency in every level of government, and I trust the investigative process will bring clarity and justice in due time."

On May 26, 2025, the Edgar County Watchdogs reported that a federal grand jury subpoena was issued to Regional Office of Education (ROE) Superintendent Christopher Mehochko. The subpoena, dated April 17, 2025, was directed to the Professional Development Alliance (PDA), a regional education training cooperative. This appears to be part of a federal investigation into possible criminal misconduct.

According to the Edgar County Watchdogs, the PDA operates under the umbrella of Regional Offices of Education and provides professional training services to educators across multiple counties. Mehochko has served as ROE Superintendent for Grundy and Kendall since 2015 and is associated with the PDA's leadership. The focus of the federal investigation remains undisclosed; however, public records indicate that the PDA has received millions in state and federal funds for education programs over the past decade.

The federal subpoena seeks extensive records related to financial and employment dealings involving Vista Learning, the Majestic Isle Casino, and multiple PDA staff members. The Edgar County Watchdogs report that it demands contracts, payroll records, correspondence, board documents, and tax filings—raising questions about potential misuse of public funds and oversight failures. Mehochko retired in February 2025 but had been under scrutiny since October 2024 when watchdogs first reported on irregularities tied to the PDA's operations.

Davis has been serving as a state representative since 2023. He previously worked in technical sales for Elevate Infrastructure LLC from 2016 to 2018 and served as board president of Parkview Christian Academy from 2010 to 2023.
