City of Yorkville issued the following announcement on Sept. 20.
The United City of Yorkville has been provided twenty (20) free lead testing kits from the Kendall County Health Department for distribution to eligible residents. Eligibility for the program is limited to those residents in single-family or multi-family homes built before 1978.
The kits contain two (2) test tubes, gloves, wipes, test area guides, an illustrated instruction guide and a prepaid return mailer. The cost of the laboratory analysis is also included and test results will be sent to you by mail. A condition of this program is that you must file or mail a copy of the test results to the United City of Yorkville within 15 days of receipt of the laboratory results.
Testing kits will be available on a first-come first-serve basis at City Hall from the Building Division of the Community Development Department (800 Game Farm Road, Lower Level). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Public Works Director, Eric Dhuse, edhuse@yorkville.il.us.
